what I wore wednesday — # 3
[Welcome to the latest installment of Chasing Maybes, a self-imposed challenge to pursue experiences I've rejected or ignored. Join me on my experiential ramble through Trivial Pursuit categories. While in October I'll be chasing adventures related to history, today I take a brief digression and link up with Lindsey at The Pleated Poppy for What I Wore Wednesday. Devised as an accountability strategy to get stay-at-home and work-at-home mothers out of their yoga pants and into cute clothes, this project challenges my fear and loathing of self-portraits. Here goes nothing.]
It isn’t Wednesday, is it? How is that possible?
This week I embodied two of my least favorite character traits — procrastination and forgetfulness. I put off taking pictures for WIWW until I completely forgot about it. Since I’d like to exhibit a little perseverance in the wake of my other failings, I offer you one photo, taken approximately three minutes ago.

sweater -- Loft, tank top -- Macy's girls' department (hey, a girls' XL is almost the same as a women's XS), belt -- Francesca's, jeans -- NYDJ, clogs -- Bass (ancient), cross-eyed glare -- yours truly
You will notice I made no attempt to “act natural” this time for my camera phone self-portrait (authenticity?). I chose the coral top and the green sweater because I thought they created an interesting color combination. Now, looking at the photo, I think I might need to place euphemistic quotation marks around “interesting.”
Maybe I’ll go change.
I hope your day matches up to your expectations. Thanks, always, for showing up.

You’re adorable. And I really like the color combo, too. xoxo.
I thought of you so much this weekend… I was back at school for reunion, and — even though we didn’t know each other then — kept seeing reminders of you! Plus, we are off to SJS this weekend… when do we get to see you guys again? miss you all. XOXO
