friday inspiration — pocket muse

February 17, 2012

What a whirling dervish of a week it has been.  It’s Friday?  How did that happen?

In keeping with (recent) tradition, today I offer a writing prompt.  Sometime before Monday, I will spend thirty minutes writing on this prompt and will subsequently post what emerges.  While I’ve not yet had a chance to set up a linking tool, please — if you are so moved — join me in this timed writing and share your results with me.  C’mon, it’ll be fun.

For today’s inspiration, I flipped randomly through the pages of Monica Wood’s Pocket Muse, a fun little book of writer’s prompts.  My finger landed on page 108:

“Work the following elements into a single scene:

a frightened animal, a civic leader, a small audience.”

I hope your day is as big as your imagination.  Thank you, always, for showing up.
